Alaska's Lonesome Dove Outfitters conducts hunts for Dall Sheep in the Chugach Mountains. These hunts start on August 8th through August 26 and are for 7 full days for a cost of $8500.00. The Chugach Mountains have been producing some of the biggest rams coming out of Alaska in the last few years. These hunts are in some fairly rugged country, and the quality of the hunt will depend on the physical condition of the client. The weather is usually fairly mild, so we will not be required to carry a lot of gear. We will cover a considerable amount of country in search of rams in the 40-inch class. This is hard hunting at it's finest, and you will have a strong sense of accomplishment when it is over. Clients are also responsible for their charter cost which run $750.00 round trip along with their tags and licenses ($510.00). A wolf tag can be purchased for $30.00 in this unit and is strongly recommended. We will conduct this hunt out of Anchorage, so clients do not need to fly to Cordova. We have had an 83% success rate since 2000. |
