Outfitters offers two types of spring Black Bear hunts. We offer a self guided drop camp in some high density bear areas. In the past we have seen as many as 8 mature bears in a day and harvested several in the 6 1/2 to 7 foot class. these bears are hunted shortly after they emerge from the den, and their coats and claws are in premium condition. The cost of this hunt is @2000.00 per hunter with a minimum of 3 hunters in camp. You will be responsible for your sleeping bag, personal and hunting gear, tags and licenses, and charter costs to the camp. These usually run $400.00 round trip. Alaska law also requires that most of the meat from spring Black Bears be salvaged, so this will be your responsibility. We will also brief you with our knowledge of the area to help increase your chance for success. Additionally, we offer a fully guided 2 on 1 hunt for $3500.00 per hunter with a minimum of two hunters. This is a beach hunt conducted out of a charter boat with many bears being spotted. Lodging will either be on the boat or at a comfortable beach camp. The charter cost is also included. Optimum spring bear hunting is weather dependent, so a client should have some flexibility with the timing of his hunt. We keep close observation on the bears and will inform you as to the peak time to arrive. |
